Me
Hi! I’m originally from Ireland, but I moved to Canada in 2017. I’ve been blogging on and off since 2009. I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I like to look back on entries from when I was a different person to who I am now. I homeschool my two boys. I’m a software developer, and I work on small websites and blogs – when I can get a few minutes peace and quiet!
The Blog
This is a personal blog. It started out as mostly a travel blog, then moved on to also cover parenting. Now there are plenty of other bits and pieces including emigrating, life as an immigrant, and homeschooling. Check out the blog timeline for some background and suggestions on where to start if you want to read some of the older posts.
The Family
We have an 8-year-old and a 4-year-old. As a personal blog inevitably involves our children, I don’t use our real names online to protect their privacy.
The Background
We like to travel and see new places when we can. Our biggest travel adventure was a three month whirlwind trip around the world. We took in more sights and experiences than we ever expected to in such a short time. We arrived back home to a wintry Ireland in the throes of a severe depression and attempted to answer the question – what now? Then we took our most life-changing plunge into the unknown and became parents. Without a doubt, this is the most stressful, difficult, and rewarding job I’ve ever had! Despite our expectations that parenthood would end our travel ambitions, we’ve continued to see more of the world though at a much slower pace. Our youngest had his passport ready to go by the time he was 3 months old. 2017 was a big year for our family when we emigrated to Montréal in Canada.

Product Reviews
I review places or events that were of interest to us. I also review some of the products I’ve used. I have never been paid to review a product. On any occasion where I received a free product for the purpose of reviewing it, this is clearly stated in the post. All opinions are my own.
