Listography – 5 Favourite Posts
Who doesn’t love a good linky? Or the chance to take a trip down memory lane? Kate Takes 5 has invited bloggers to share 5 of their favourite posts. It’s been a great excuse to read back through some of the 285 posts published on this blog over the past 7 years! Things have changed a lot over those years, but here are 5 of my favourite posts so far…
1. Tall ships, blue waters
Once upon a time this blog started out as somewhere to chronicle the adventures of two young(ish) people heading off an a ’round the world in 96 days’ adventure of a lifetime. We’ve since gone on to other kinds of adventures – and maybe another very big one on the horizon. It’s a tough call between our eventful trip to Fraser Island and visiting the Whitsunday Islands, but I’ll always remember this particular day as one of the best of our lives as we sailed the blue seas in Australia.
2. Bedtime – an Interlude
Parenthood has its ups and downs. So many things that I grow weary of on a day-to-day basis, but know I will miss in the years ahead. The ongoing bedtime antics is a prime example.
3. Kuredo: Look, an island! Look, another one!
It’s back to the travel theme again, but this time with a toddler in tow. We’ve had a few great holidays, but this is our furthest journey travelling as a family of three. We hope to top this as a family of four, but it will be hard to beat the beautiful Maldives with the spectacular sunsets…
4. The Last Summer
This year has brought a lot of change. One thing I struggled with was the impending end of life as we knew it for the past few years, and the start of something new. Not better or worse, just different. I’ll admit to already missing much of what I mentioned in this post.
5. Those Newborn Daze
I can’t leave out the newest member of the family, can I? He’s only been around for a few weeks, but his arrival was epic, and he’s been making his presence felt since then. This is our life right now. It’s hectic, but it’s also pretty awesome.
