World Breastfeeding Week 2014
It’s World Breastfeeding Week 2014 from Aug 1st-7th, and Irish Parenting Bloggers are sharing experiences of breastfeeding in their lives with this linky, where you can find other contributions…
The World Breastfeeding Week theme this year is “Breastfeeding: A Winning Goal for Life”. Breastfeeding is no different to most parenting choices – it’s not for everyone. It can be tough and lonely during the hard, sleepless nights. It can be the best thing ever during peaceful, sleepy cuddles – a little beady eye peering up at you contentedly. What works for one baby may not work at all for another. The important thing is that the right support is there for everyone who needs and wants it.
We took breastfeeding one day at a time. Our first goal was one day. Then one week… Day by day our goal moved until eventually, there no longer was a goal. It was just an everyday part of our life.
Love your great advice to take it one day at a time. It’s a tough old slog sometimes but if you slow down and take it step by step, it can make all the difference.
Yep, especially early on you really need to focus on now rather than worrying about some distant goal. Some great advice you commonly get in support groups is to never ever quit on a bad day. In particular, things always seem so much worse at 3am when you’re in agony with a screaming baby, looking at a husband that is somehow sleeping through it all 😉
A great post -and two beautiful pictures. Great advice on how we should all wait until sane moments to make these big decisions.
Great advice and GORGEOUS photos! Xx
Love that photo! And I am only starting to understand why ‘one day at a time’ is so important
